HIPAA Features
Prepare for HIPAA with Standard Identifiers, Auto Log Off, and Consents and Authorizations features.
 

• HIPAA Standard identifier fields in the provider and address screens include National Provider Identification (NPI) and Employer Identification Number (EIN).
• Secure your sensitive patient data with Auto Log Off. Auto Log Off limits unauthorized access to patient and provider information by automatically logging off any user that has been idle.
• Backup your data files through the new back up feature. Automatic prompts remind the user to backup each time the system is exited.
• Track Patient Consents and Authorizations. Choose from one of four types of notes for categorizing—standard note, record of patient consent, an acknowledgment of privacy notice and/or consent, and authorizations. The Expiration Date field reminds you of expiring authorization dates.

Simplified Data Entry

• Fill in the zip code and Lytec will automatically fill in the city and state to reduce redundant data entry.
• Enter two digits for the year and Lytec will automatically convert it to the correct 4-digit year.
• Copy and paste patient information—this saves time when setting up additional family members.
• Store additional phone numbers, fax numbers, and email addresses in the Contact field on the Patient, Provider, and Address screens.
• Add up to 75 custom fields in the patient screen and up to 20 in the billing screens. These additional fields allow your practice to grow and adapt to change.
• Open any data file for any practice from one window—each available data set, no matter where the file is located, will display in the Open Practice window.

Simplified Billing

• Select from one of two options for walkout statements —for the current visit only or for a range of billings that you define.
• Reduce claim rejection and improve cash flow by sending your insurance claims electronically to MedUnite.
• Define and use up to three insurance categories when printing claims or generating reports to save time with billing and reporting.
• Simplify patient statements by sending them electronically to MedPrint. MedPrint will print, fold, stuff, affix postage, and mail your statements for you—for less money than your current paper process!
• Generate patient statements with or without credit balances to save time sorting statements.
• Simplify the rebilling process —Flag claims automatically to be included in the next claims batch when reprinting claims
• View reminder messages for Hold Codes in the Patient screen to remind you of important patient information

Lytec Scheduler Professional is a flexible appointment scheduler that helps you create and organize your appointments. You can schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments with just a few clicks of the mouse. Features like multiple views, reason codes, and color-coding let you set up the scheduler the way that works best for your practice.

• Select from four different appointment views to help you schedule and locate appointments quickly. You can select the day, week, resource, or template view.
• Search for an open appointment on a specific date or date range, or search for the next available appointment.
• Print superbills directly from your Lytec Scheduler Professional program.

Reason Codes
Define your own reason code for each type of appointment. Color-coding your reason codes allows you to quickly identify types of appointments when scheduling or checking-in patients. This is an excellent visual indicator of required actions, such as giving a new patient registration forms or collecting co-payments from insured patients.

Appointment Templates
Lytec Scheduler Professional allows you to create appointment templates that reserve blocks of time for certain types of appointments, such as new patients or follow-up exams.

• Define the reason codes that will be allowed during a time period.
• Set a maximum number of appointments that are allowed.
• Color code the template to identify quickly when to schedule a patient.

After setting up your template, a warning will alert you when you have scheduled an appointment that does not meet the requirements for that time period.

Appointment Status
With Lytec Scheduler Professional, you can mark the status of any appointment.
